Miriam Makki is the Head of Public Policy at Heidi, the AI Care Partner trusted by health systems and clinicians globally. She leads the company's global engagement with governments and policymakers as it scales across 190 countries. A commercial litigator by training, working on some of the biggest product liability class actions in the world, Miriam went on to serve as Senior Advisor to the Minister for Industry and Science on AI policy, IP policy, start-ups, and the $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund, and later as Senior Advisor to the Minister for Home Affairs, Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, and Minister for Cyber Security, before taking a senior role on the Prime Minister's successful 2025 election campaign. She now uses that experience to solve real policy problems in healthcare, and to do it responsibly, so Heidi can earn the trust it needs to help double the world's healthcare capacity.
