Director, RAIsE Hub (RMIT Artificial Intelligence Advanced Innovation Experience), RMIT UniversityProfessor Rahil Garnavi is is an internationally recognised AI leader and strategist with more than 18 years of experience spanning AI research, product development, industry innovation and organisational transformation.

She is Professor and Director of the RAIsE Hub (RMIT Artificial Intelligence Advanced Innovation Experience) at RMIT University, where she leads initiatives that bridge AI education, research and industry to drive real-world impact. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and industry engagement, her work focuses on advancing responsible AI innovation and preparing individuals and organisations to thrive in an AI-enabled future.

Prior to joining RMIT, Rahil was a founding member of IBM Research Australia and later worked within IBM's global consulting and applied research teams, helping organisations navigate AI adoption, business transformation and emerging technologies.

Rahil is a recognised advocate for responsible AI development and adoption, and a regular speaker at industry conferences, executive forums and public events. She has authored more than 60 publications, holds over 50 AI patents, and has been recognised as a finalist in the Women Leading Tech Awards and Women in AI Awards.

She has served on the CEDA AI Community of Best Practice Steering Committee, contributing to national conversations on the responsible adoption of AI and Generative AI in ways that build trust and create positive economic and social outcomes.
